Meet the Instructor

Tom has 30+ years of international experience in sales and technical roles at major OEM’s such as Cisco, Oracle, IBM and HPE in addition to several startups.
In early 2023, he started an AI Systems Integrator business called GT Edge AI, which specializes in designing and deploying Private Enterprise AI services using open-source LLMs and software from Bionic GPT.
GT Edge AI has customers in the United States, European Union, New Zealand and Africa. Tom is an active speaker on the topic of AI and Cyber, recently presenting at Tech Duels Commonwealth Cyber Initiative, Bsides NoVA, and CornCon, and he coaches Cyber Clubs at Loudoun County Public Schools, runs the Nth VA Cyber Meetup and the Tuesday Night AI Coaching group.

What type of AI are we talking about for this workshop?
- Generative AI. Generative artificial intelligence is an AI model capable of generating content in response to a prompt.
What technical skills do you need for this workshop?
- No specific technical skills are required, however a basic working knowledge of Internet and web browsers is assumed.
What do I bring?
- Your questions and curiosity
- Your own Windows, Linux or Mac computer/laptop
- NOTE: A limited number of training laptops will be available for group activities. Please advise us in advance if you would like to use a training laptop.
- NOTE : All training will be web-based with an email and two-factor authentication (2FA) required for login.
What kinds of hands-on things will we accomplish?
- You will have the opportunity to build out an AI assistant to help you tackle tasks that are important to you or your business.
Do I need to prepare before I attend? Are there any pre-requisites?
- Yes! You will be sent an email a couple days before the workshop inviting you to register on the AI platform and set-up your 2FA. Please complete this prior to the workshop start so that we can devote the entire time to hands-on learning.
Can I use this as CEU credit?
- Following the completion of the course, you’ll receive a letter of recommendation to submit for CEU credit. Your certifying organization will determine credit eligibility.
